Colors
Picking the colors for your new bedmate can be difficult when you have infinite possibilities, and it should be an exciting experience. Luckily, some colors look better than others together and some combinations create brown shades when mixed, so that eliminates some of the stress.
Great color combos:
Neon Rainbow- Blue, Pink, Yellow bleed together in a swirl and creates every color in between.
White and Red- Swirled or faded will create a soft pastel pink.
Dark bold shades- Swirled with a shimmery clear or bright neon creates some of my favorite designs, galaxy-like.
Bad color combos:
Yellow and Blue/Black- Yellow easily disappears in dark colors. For best results, use yellow as the top of a fade.
Orange and Green- A tricky color when swirled, creates a unique baby puke shade. Add another color to combat this effect, like white, black, or purple.
Black over light colors- Fades work best when the lightest color is at the tip, black can consume the whole toy and everything could be lost. To avoid this, switch the colors or request a swirl fade.
Next, we can establish your style. What colors are you naturally drawn to? I’ve seen collectors with themed hoards and others with every color of the rainbow. Some themes include; crystals, desserts, food, pride, characters, pop culture, astrology, etc. Some creators have their own styles and special pours, as well, so don’t limit yourself too much.
Color ideas:
Classic- Green fade over purple, one of the most popular requests.
Ocean- White, Sea Green, Gold Swirl fade, will look like a wave breaking over golden shells.
Amethyst- Silvery Purple fade to a Dark Purple with a blue interference shimmer.
Strawberry Shortcake- White, Pastel Pink, and Golden Cream; for a smooth and creamy swirl.
Coffee- Black, Bronze shimmer and Creamy Carmel swirl.
Snowy Evergreen- White fade over a Spring Green and Forrest Green swirl, for a winter mountain feel.
Devilish- Deep Red with shimmer fade over Black.
Butter- Light Creamy Yellow fade over Bold Shimmery Yellow, creates a warm melted vibe.
Cotton Candy- Pastel Blue and Neon Pastel Pink swirl.
Opal- White, and interference shimmers swirled. Add Copper for natural rock-like imperfections.
Sunflower- Yellow fade to Light Green, great as a swirl fade, too.
